Ovulation Symptoms
Mittelschmerz
Mittelschmerz is one of the more common ovulation symptoms. It is the name given to a pain in the pelvic area that is associated with ovulation. The German word is derived from "mid-cycle pain". It is a sharp pain lasting usually minutes or hours, typically not treated with pain relievers.
Sometimes, doctors like to perform an ultrasound to rule out any other possible causes of pain. If you do not feel any sharp pain when ovulating, it is not a problem. If you do feel pain, the good news is that the prognosis of possible pregnancy is good.
Cervical Mucus
Cervical mucus is often evaluated during the monitoring of a basal temperature chart. It helps determine if the mucus environment is good for sperm survival and swimming. The mucus changes throughout the cycle. Sometimes it is described as dry, milky, egg white or sticky. Around the time of ovulation, it is clear and sometimes stretchy. This is often referred to as spinbarkeit.

Temperature Increase
As the result of ovulation, progesterone levels increase which help prepare the lining of the uterus, where a possible pregnancy will survive. Progesterone is a hormone that increases basal body temperature. Most women cannot detect the increase in temperature.

Can I have a period and still not have ovulated?
Having a period does not necessarily mean that ovulation has taken place. Some women may have what is called an anovulatory cycle, (meaning no ovulation) and can experience some bleeding which is mistaken for a period, but it is actually not a true period. This bleeding is caused by either a buildup in the uterine lining that can no longer sustain itself or by an estrogen level drop. The main way to decipher if ovulation is in fact taking place is by tracking the body temperature.

Actually you ovulate approximately 14 days "BEFORE" your subsequent menstrual cycle is as a result of start. Not each girl has a usual 28 day cycle. Begin taking your temperature each morning earlier than you even breathe tough. Have the thermometer via your bedside. Reach over, get it, positioned it for your mouth. Chart the temperature. Each day do that and you'll see a sample. About 24 hours earlier than your frame releases and egg your temperature will drop approximately an extra measure. You will see a sure change. Then is the time to have intercourse. Also in case you desire to develop your danger of perception, start taking B6 day-to-day. Good success!

A much easier way to track ovulation is to track your basal body temperature - check out this site which will teach you how to do it. I have used this method this past month and even though I ovulate irregularly, I found the exact day I ovulated, and I am off for a pregnancy blood test on Monday.
All the best. You may want to see a doctor as well...

If you are having a period (or spotting) every month, then you are ovulating. Have sex every other day and you will get pregnant eventually. You also need to go to your doctor and talk to him/her about your really light periods. Before you get pregnant you need to have a full physical to make sure that any and all issues are addressed with your body before putting the stress of pregnancy on it.

Good luck!!!
