Get a group in the school to sell carnations-it makes $$$ for the club and everyone loves to get flowers. When I was in school (way back in the 90's) the SGA sold them, took orders the Friday before, charged $2 a flower, and the students delivered them on Val Day to 2nd period class (of course the school was behind us on this and we had the okay to do it). It was an easy way to raise funds.
As far as fun outings-how about pizza making partys at someone's house? If you have a group of friends, just get together at one person's house, everyone bring a different part of the pizza (toppings, sauce, dough mix) and maybe make a batch of brownies too-hey the oven is on anyhow! Then veg out, talk, laugh and enjoy the company of your freinds. Besides-the resteraunts will be so crowded, no fun there. Score extra points and make your folks a pizza too to thank them for letting everyone come over! No parent will turn down dinner they don't have to make:) Good luck with the article!
