I bought my 1st house 1 1/2 yrs. ago. After the closing is when i heard the drumming start from the 16yr old boy next door. The houses are 10 feet apart and the reverberation can be felt and heard. I talked w/him the 1st night he was drumming after 11pm. I didnt care (im flexible) during the day but after 10 is a no no. The problem is that he does it all times during the day and you can really feel it. i like to lay down for a lil catnap after work and it is so loud..i am at my wits end and it makes me want to sell my american dream and move...any suggestions???

Oh, I know how you feel!!!! Try living WITH a drummer.
I have sympathy for you.

Isn't the kid supposed to be at school most of the day?

I got some Philips noise cancelling earphones from Walmart. They work like a dream on the train or plane. I even use them to save my hearing when using the leaf blower.

Or get his parents to trade up to an electronic set which can be played a lot quieter.

Get his autograph before he becomes famous.

It's against the law in most cities for him to play after 10pm, call the cops and complain. I did it took several times but now at least I can sleep. The cops also told them who called but I didn't care, the guy hates me now again I don't care. Good night...

have you talked with his parents? if it bothers you that much, just imagine what it's like to live in the same house... btw, i'm married to a drummer and he has a sound proof room which muffles the noise but still annoying. good luck.

cardboard egg cartons. Not 4 you but 4 him. Its amazing how they stifle the sound. Ask him if he could do it. Is he in the basement?
