Hello :) I just got a Danby 8 place setting portable dishwasher that hooks up to the kitchen sink..... Now im supposed to put some kind of salt in there for water softener but I dont know what kind because the manual said make sure its the kind of salt used for dishwashers so is it the same salt you use for water softener like the pellets? or something else ?

I use Cascade complete, I have never heard of adding salt to a dishwasher.

I suspect what you need is rinse aid liquid. It will go inside a small compartment on the door of the dishwasher and be released slowly during each rinse cycle. It helps reduce spots on the dishes. You can find it near the dishwasher detergent in a much smaller container.

Baking soda works well; use 1/2 cup per load.
