My First Period??????????!!!!!!?

I recently put up a post about a white discharge... I noticed today that I was getting funny stomach aches. I just went to go to the loo and noticed a smallish brown stain in my underwear. My first reaction was 'Woooahh!! Ahhh??' Lol. Is this definitely my first period??? I don't really have anyone to check with as it is only me and my Dad. Thanks everyone!!! :) x

Yes, go buy pads and you might want to tell your dad or if you're to shy.Write a shopping list and put those pads on it and hand it to him

Yep... It sounds like it is, but don't worry! Your first few periods are usually light so sometimes you'll hardly have any mess at all... As long as you keep yourself clean you'll be fine!
And also a tip: when you come out of the shower/bath, wipe around your vagina with some toilet paper or you might get the towel a bit bloody - which your Dad won't be pleased with..

But don't be afraid to talk to your Dad - he knows about this stuff too!

Hey that's great I got mine recently too
And here's everything I've learned

- don't use tampons until you're much older like about 16 - 18 because you can suffer from Toxic Shock Syndrome

- buy pads according to your flow ( meaning If you are using regular pads
really quickly consider getting extra absorbent pads or the other way around.

- purchase a heating pad to reduce pain

- drink lots of water

- purchase Tylenol and midol for pain relief

And my favorite chocolate

My sister is 12 and just got her 1st period today. It sounds like you got it, it usually looks like you pooped in your pants a little. Just tell your dad that you need to go to the store to get some feminine needs im sure he will understand. For the fist time just use a pad or panty liner. If the cramps get unbearable, take motrin or Advil. Good Luck!

Sounds like it! Period pains tend to be in the lower abdomen and feel different to normal stomach ache. Can it really be that hard to tell your Dad? He knows this would have happened to you at some point, and all women have them!

yeah it sounds like it!!

If you just wait a little while, some more menstrual fluid should come down.

If you have a pad handy put that in your knickers just incase a whole load comes down and you stain yourself. If you don't have access to a pad then just shove a whole load of tissue down there.

Tell your dad when you are sure!! It's not embarassing honest. =)

That sounds like it. Congrats, new woman! lol. Get yourself some pads or tampons, because that small stain might stay just small spotting for your first period or first few periods, or it could turn into a flood and take you by surprise. Good luck. (Now the fun starts. lol.)

it does sound like the start of your first period yes. It may take a while for them to settle down, but if you have any worries, or you're uncertain about what happens, i'm sure going to the doctor would put your mind at rest

i had exactly the same chiken! i was to scared to tell enyone mum confronted me about it i was scared and ddnt know what it was !
try talking to a friend ur nan or a teacher teachers always have stocks of pads available well they shud do anyway! uve got to tell ur dad though its important he knows what ur goiing through and he might be able to help giuve u a hug and tell u its arite which it is k evry woman goes through it k! the stomach cramps hot water bottles and hot baths and hot choccy very handy! bt welcome to the world of woomanhood it sucks at times bt dont let iit get u down ok! xxxemail me if u want help xx

It might be ur mensurating now yeah sometimes it comes brown at first n then red just wait n c if later red starts coming it might be yes r maybe something else u should check up with ur docter.
