Kermit the frog because he's more worldly. Elmo is just a little kid who barely even knows what's going on around him. Kermit is introspective and cares about the outside world.

This is such a tough question.
Elmo's only real strength is cuteness while Kermit has the humour as well as the sweet stuff : remember the song, "Caribbean Amphibian"?
I pick Kermit.

Absolutely Kermit. You can't fault the flawless compare, ultimate straight frog, and singer of one of the greatest songs of all time - "It's Not Easy Being Green".
