Have fun working for the mouse! It is a truly fun experience and you'll make a ton of friends. Since you'll be a cast member, you'll be lucky enough to get into all of the Disney parks for free - so really take advantage of that! Your managers will encourage you to get to know the parks anyway, so that you can be of greater assistants to guests when you are working.
But here are some other fun activities, sites and things to do in your area while you are there:

Universal's Islands of Adventure - amazing coasters!
Sea World - I've heard the Kraken coaster is amazing there
Universal City Walk - dine at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville for a good time!
Boggy Creek Airboat Rides - Kissimmee
Celebration - Disney owned community - its a gem and they have excellent restaurants and shopping! They also have a public golf course if you like to golf
Kennedy Space Center
Cocoa Beach
Siesta Key Beach (1 hr 45 minute drive south of Orlando, located in the town of Sarasota) - it is by far my favorite beach in the nation!
Florida keys / Key West - take a personal yaht tour with some buddies to split the cost and dine where Jimmy Buffet wrote "cheeseburger in paradise!"
Visit the southern most tip of the nation. You'll actually be closer to Cuba than you will be to Miami. This would require a long weekend and hotel accomodations

Have a great time working as a cast member!

Disneyland is in California.

The gulf Coast of Florida is really nice. Around the Tampa area, Ft. De Soto is a beautiful state park.

Universal Orlando is really fun.

I hear the Florida Everglades are nice as well.

You'd probably better avoid Orlando. It's got the highest rate of murders in FL. You should try Daytona Beach or Kississimmee and then there's St Augustine which is EXCELLENT--make sure you go to Ripleys Believe it or not--and the Jacksonville zoo. Hey come by and pick me up!!!!!

Disney World is in Florida.
You may want to check your employment form, so you don't end up at the wrong side of the US
