the minute you teach yourself to love unconditionally that is the time you will experience being loved unconditionally. Give and you'll take; don't reverse the formula. Sometimes, to get what you want, you have to give. It is not a concept of which is better or not, it is the idea of which will make you a better person, which as I explained is definitely to love unconditionally.

Just as the saying goes, "It takes two to tango" you really need both of those. To achieve true happiness and peace of mind, you cannot have one of those alone. Sure you can live with one of those, but why just merely live life for the sake of living, if you can experience a fuller more satisfying life?

In a relationship, it is indeed a great feeling to have unconditional love because no matter how bad life gets, no matter what this cruel world throws at you, you know you can go back home to your loved one and be comforted in a moment. But love is not just all about you.

What about the other person? You have to make sure they get the same support, respect and love from you as you have been so lucky to get from them. This will start a viciously wonderful cycle. You unconditionally love her and treat her so, and she can't help but show it unconditionally back to you. That is when you can write your story...."...and they lived happily ever after".

Unfortunately, why does this not seem too common in today's society? We are so caught up in our own individual issues that we hardly spend any time thinking about our partner's issues. The minute you become self-engrossed you lock yourself out and then are unable to experience unconditional love and eventually you may not be able to love unconditionally either.

So...wake up and smell the roses yall!

My 2 cents :)

If it's true, to love unconditionally could be perceived as being better. But I'm sure being loved unconditionally would feel good as well.

Since I give love unconditionally to many people, I think to be loved unconditionally is better. I'd like to experience it before I die.

to be loved unconditionally is a wonderful thing, but one may never actually realize they are loved this way and therefore never experience the joy that unconditional love brings.

to love unconditionally is the purest form of love, the least selfish, the most kind and enlightened. and, one that loves unconditionally is aware that they do so.

ergo, i feel that to love unconditionally is far better, as it is a conscious act.

Depends on your personality. I personally would rather be loved unconditionally. Always having that person as my backbone supporting me through anything and everything helps me function better in life. I take risks and challenges because I know that no matter what there is that someone who will always be there for me. But, I know people who can only funtion if they are the ones loving and providing. They need to feel useful and important in order to function....

You receive the most inner peace by loving unconditionally. If someone loves you back then that's a bonus!

I think both. But I don't think it is truly possible to either love or be loved unconditionally.
