Unlike the pill, which is out of your system as soon as you stop taking them, the Depo shot can hang around for as many as 6 months after you stop. This can interfere big time when trying to conceive. It could take a year for your fertility to completely return to normal. I only had the shot for 3 months and I didn't get a normal period for another 6 months after stopping.

Since you're not protected by the shot anymore, it's possible to get pregnant right away. But be aware that it's not uncommon for it to cause problems until it's completely out of your system.

Good luck! =)

Some women get pregnant right off the depo shot and some have to go to a specialist to get pregnant.

First, take the birth control until you start getting your period again. When you do then stop taking it so you can try to get pregnant.

probably not long at all. I was off the shot for about 1 month and I got pregnant.
