Who did OSU play besides Michigan and an ok Texas team? NOBODY. Florida got past a top 5 LSU team they won against a good Georgia team and Tennesse as well as FSU and also beat Arkansas. The SEC is just faster and better. I Fell that any of the top 3 teams in the SEC could have the same success. OSU is overrated. Michigan overrated. Florida and LSU underrated. Florida was the better team. Oh and Troy Smith isn't that good, see. He played horrible and will drop because he cant play against good teams or in a pressure situation on the road. If only the Heisman was announced this week the rightful winner, Mr. Brady Quinn would have won, because he had the better year and had a better last game than smith even though he didn't play great.Give credit where credit is due Florida was a much better team. That's what @@@@ing happened.

Well, I will agree with the last sentence by Tyler E because that pretty much sums it up. I don't agree with the long layoff as being that much of a factor. Come on it is for the national championship and the Buckeyes looked like they were strolling through the park. Talk about overconfidence leading to a lackluster performance.
As far as coaching, Tressel did not have them ready to play and did not have a good game plan. Also, I did not see any halftime adjustments. It was the same old thing in the second half.
I'm a die hard SEC fan and I thought the Gators would have a chance because of team speed on defense. Especially the defensive ends where the SEC always seems to make a statement with that position. Well duh, the OSU coaching staff had nothing in the bag for that one and that should have been their first priority along with disrupting the routes of the Gator receivers.
I guess OSU just thought this was going to be a cake walk and all they had to do was show up. Well, they were shown up all right.

What went wrong with OSU is two weeks more off than Florida. I don't care what you say about that but me being a player, I know exactly how it is to take even two weeks off, let alone 50+ days.
Another thing was their idiotic zone defense, I was really prepared for some great man to man coverage schemes, but that never happened. They allowed receivers to run straight in front of the linebackers with no pursuit of the ball. Half the players would let the guy catch the ball turn up field and run before they even decided to attack. They never jammed the receivers at the line or even gave them tight coverage. Come on now, your playing Florida, zone defense will not stop a pure passing team, especially when the same defense is played throughout an entire game.
Another thing is when Tebow came in, he ran straight up the middle nearly ever single time. What defense does not get it in their head that he might run up the middle once again? Bad coaching on informing the nonintelligent players that he might run up the gut again.
Lets look at the play of the offensive line. Horrible job by OSU, letting a defensive end come off clean for a sack like that is just ridiculous in a game of this caliber. Where is the communication on the line of letting know who you got? That had to be one of the worst "lookout" blocks I have seen in awhile. Now back to coaching, they passed on nearly every play from begginning to end. They dug themselves in a hole to keep on passing. No run game whatsoever, and that is just not Ohio State's offensive game.
Florida came to play, coached well, and was able to exploit all the laziness and bad coaching done by OSU.
Good job Florida.

They were overrated! I never thought they should have been ranked #1. SEC is a tough conference. I love my VOLS but last night I cheered on the Gators to swallow the Buckeye whole...bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

they played a team in the best conference in the nation: the SEC. florida KILLED them, even though throughout uf's season they had some very close calls. they beat south carolina by 1 point b/c of a blocked field goal attempt. that just proves just how good the SEC is. south carolina, who had a semi-mediocre season, almost beat florida, and osu couldn't come anywhere close.

first of all the layoff was too long
second they killed Teddy 15 sec into the game, and lost morale
third Troy gained weight and could not run
and as always it takes them forever to wake up, yesterday it didn't happen at all
Gators beat them not because they are better all-together team, but because Bucks had worst game ever

They just got upset by the underdog like almost every top team has done lately. Must be the over confidence they get with all the hype. I think the underdog wants to prove so much that they should not be underestimated that they prepare better and make more risks instead of staying with the preperation that got them through the season. Oh and Troy Smith is just overrated as well.

Ohio State was a fraud. They played their first real competion of the year and got smoked. They are a good team but nowhere near as good as the SEC elite, I think that was proven last night.

Long layoff. The Gators played twice since OSU's last game while OSU was rusty. It's a whole different season when you have a 50+ day layoff. Had the game been played 2 weeks after they played Michigan, it's a whole different ballgame. This just proves we're in desperate need of a playoff since we all know the Gator's aren't the best team in the country.
