Wrap pieces of ice in paper towels and place them on your eyelids for a few minutes. The cold will reduce the swelling.
Place black or chamomile teabags soaked in cold water on your eyelids for 15 minutes. The tannic acid in tea will constrict the blood vessels and reduce inflammation. To accelerate drainage, gently press from the inside corner to the outside corner of the swollen eye.
Apply thinly sliced cucumbers to reduce the swelling, if you have them available.
Give your eyes a salt bath by soaking cotton pads in a saline solution or a solution of one teaspoon of salt in one pint of hot water. Place the pads on your puffy eyelids for a few minutes.
Take an over the counter diuretic if you have it available.
Apply a hemorrhoid cream to the puffy area around the puffy eye.

Well, you should start by taking all of your eye makeup off and throwing it away, then make an appointment with your doctor to make sure you don't have conjunctiveisis or a deep tissue infection which could be causing that kind of a reaction. also, not purchasing mascara and chucking the old one every six months causes bacteria to build up on the wand and when you apply your makeup you run the risk of putting those bacteria into your eye.

You may be having an allergic reaction like pink eye. If so then to the doctor you go.
It really sounds to me like you just wear too much, wear less once you get the swelling down and get a new one, just in case you did pick up germs on the brush.

I'm sure you've already washed it off by now so try putting a wash cloth dipped in cold water over your eyes to reduce swelling and take some Benedryl...it's great for all allergies. Hope you're feeling better soon!

I like Pond's Age Def-Eye cream. but i'd ask your doctor b/c you may be allergic. If you've had pink eye ever, it can get on your makeup and continually re-infect you. So I'd ask a dr. first
