EFI is electronic controlled injection. That means that a control unit sens a signal to the injector telling it to open and spray the fuel.
FI is a pressure controlled system. The fuel is sent to each cylinder through a fuel distributor,or an injection pump on diesel engines.

Today many engines are EFI with computers and older models are FI. FI is different than a carburetor because it directly shoots fuel into the cylinder compartment compared to are carb and an intake manifold and the venturi effect that fills the cylinder compartment with and are fuel mist of the muscle cars in the past. FI = fuel injected
not really any difference since all fuel injection systems are controlled electronically. however some cars are half FI and half carbourated. this is called electronic carbourated. hope this helps.
