on December 29th, I was hit by a car. I suffered a head trauma, the doctors told me I might suffer some slight to severe short term memory loss, which I did.But I have noticed I am very short tempered, I get angry easily, when before I didn't I keep snapping at people. The doctors didn't mention anything about mood swings, but they didn't mention the terrible headaches or nausea that I have been having either, since the accident.Could this be a side effect of the trauma or am I suddenly just a shrew?!

try looking up brain injury through the internet there are lots of help groups out there.
Brain injury is no laughing joke. Check your area to see if there are societies or agencies that can help you understand what you are going through.
But the first thing is to see your doctor again and tell him/her everything that has been happening - good to have the record for insurance as well.

Is a side of the trauma. Are you in a lot of pain still? Pain can cause us to be irritable, nippy and so on. Also, not remembering things that you used to and not being as on top of things as you used to can be frustrating and will cause mood swings. Also, a lot of people who suffer from head trauma wind up getting really depressed. Your mood swings may be an early warning sign of depression.

it's might be the trauma, it should pass though.

keep in mind that you've been under a great deal of stress lately, and that will have a lot to do with it as well. easing the stress will go a long way to easing the headaches and short temper.

the nausea, I think, comes from not eating. I tend to get nauseous if I don't eat for a long period of time. eat something Shiv!

contact your doctor about the bad headaches and nausea, and while there ask about the temper. I think the doc needs to look at you, maybe do an x-ray...but, I'm not a doctor. Maybe something is swelling and putting pressure. You have every right to be a shrew for a while you were injured.

My guess would be your short temper is a result of your inability to remember the things you lost when you hit your head. It can be frustrating. But you didnt lose that much, and im still here for you Sherry. All you have to do is come home and want it. You will remember. I promise. I never foregot.

I am sorry to hear about your accident, but I am happy to see you well. You could be experiencing some depression or post-traumatic stress. Are you having nightmares? Trouble sleeping? Any change in appetite? Any loss of interest in things that you liked before?
