Are you using your ceiling fan in the winter months? There is a spin on why you should. During the winter, set your ceiling fan to turn clockwise to move risen warm air, down into your room. When the weather heats up, set the fan to turn counter-clockwise for a cooling breeze.

The benefits for running the ceiling fan either direction as opposed to the other are only marginal. Either way, the ceiling fan is still doing it's job: Circulating air and evening the temperature difference between the air at floor and ceiling levels

Why do you run your ceiling fan in the winter?
Any time I run the ceiling fan I like to have it blowing down on top of me. Some say, that because heat rises and the ceiling then holds the heat in, you want to cool the air near the ceiling so you set your fan to blow upwards.

in summer, if you are standing under the fan, you should feel the breeze on you... great when you come in all hot and sweaty... cools you off fast.... in winter, the fan blows air up toward the ceiling so that all that hot air trapped up there moves down the walls of the room and makes you feel warm on the couch...

In summer the air should be pushing downward...in winter, the air should be pulled up to the ceiling.
