Champ! The "Junkyard Dawg" defense at the University of Georgia rules!

C'mon--Neion Deion was a crimi-Nole!

Ok lets look at the facts

Champ Bailey has 39 career Inceptions
No Superbowl Wins
Good player, but not unbeatable. I have seen him give up some huge plays

Deion Sanders has 53 career Inceptioions
2 Superbowl Rings
MLB Player
Played in World Series and a Superbowl
Highest Paid CB of all time
Made Defenses plan around him for years, No one threw to his side from 93-98 when he was in his prime
More Pro Bowl Apperances

You gotta go Deion until Champ is part of some history

Champ is good, but just off the top of my head I can recall JERRY PORTER, a second-tier Raiders WR, smoked Bailey for 2 TOUCHDOWNS IN ONE GAME 2 years ago. That simply NEVER happened to Deion in his prime.

Yes, It's Deion. Bailey is a great allround player and the best cover corner of his generation, but Deion is the best one-on-one in coverage ever. He's not the best corner, because he was not physical and didnt tackle.
But for shutting down the top receiver and effectively taking away half the field, Deion did it for almost a decade. From 1991 to 1997, the man simply NEVER got beat for a big play. His speed was tremendous, and his catch up gear was the best ever.

Champ is the champ in this duo. Both guys have/had amazing cover skills. BUT to be a complete corner you need to tackle too. Every time someone brings up how great Deion was i see him getting juked out of his shoes by DAVE BROWN. You remember him, the backup QB for the Giants who was slower than molasses. HA!

Definitely Champ Bailey, half of the hype that Neon Deion gets is because of his PR/KR highlights. Bailey has proven to be the best cover corner possibly in the NFL and will continue to be despite his shorter height.

The fact that we are even considering Champ in this argument while he is still in his prime says it all. Champ has done enough already to be put on the same plateau with Deion and will only elevate himself above the rest in seasons to come.

Deion Sanders. This is really not a debate. Deion did things I will never see Champ do. It will take a lot more then just interceptions to prove me that Champ Bailiey is even close to Sanders as a corner. Just watch video of the two and you will see the excitement of watching Deion play. This is like saying Barry Sanders and LT are comparable. No one will ever be comparable to Barry anytime soon.

I would take Champ any day. Not only can he cover and deny the WR but if needed he will lay you out. Deion was a tackler only if by accident, and poor at it.
Sanders was flashier when he did get the ball. And he definately had great moves. But if a team chose to NOT throw his way, he was non-existant. Like I said above, Champ is still a threat whether the ball is thown his way.

Since you have 'COVER' in caps I am assuming you are referring to only pass coverage. In my opinion, Neon Deion was better at pass coverage but it stops right there. Neon could cover like he was the receiver's shadow. However, Neon was a self-centered a**hole and still is today. He was a pretty boy who didn't want to get hurt. Women could tackle better than Neon. If I had to choose between the two, I would take Champ in a heartbeat.

neon deion all the way...cowboys often left deion to an entire side by himself cause he was that much of a shutdown corner. champ bailey i believe might be better overall in terms of tackling and other things but i think deions the better cover corner and has some of those winning intangibles you cant describe.
