Tell her to see her GP. In the Uk they send everyone with a breast lump to be reviewed at the hospital within 2 weeks where they will take some fluid from it with a needle and /or do a mammogram and an ultrasound scan. 90% of lumps are not cancer, but all should be checked.

First, your sister should see her primary physician. If she is under forty, they will probably do an ultrasound of her breast instead of a mammogram. This is because the tissue in young breasts is denser and a mammogram can't get as good a picture of the lump. If she's 40 or older, she'll most likely have a mammogram. Even if it's found that there is a lump there, that doesn't mean that she has cancer. It could be a cyst a fibroid--both totally benign. This is why if they find a lump they'll do a fine needle aspirate, which means they'll suck some of the tissue into a syringe. This tissue will be sent to a lab where they'll determine exactly what the lump is. The worst thing she can do is ignore it, which won't make things any better and could make things a lot worse.

Tell her for God's sake get it checked by a doctor. My mother had it and lost both breasts, a lot of chest muscle, lymphnodes, and after all the surgery and chemo and radiation discovered it went to her brain. She's had radiation and chemo for that, too. All because she didn't get the lump checked out when she discovered it. She got distracted with other things and let it go. It caught fast and went crazy. Beg, plead, whatever. You may not be close, but you can still care. If it is cancerous and caught early the treatments can be less invasive and not so strong as to wipe her out and strip her of dignity. There are many types of cancer. It's best that she gets it tended to a.s.a.p. It may just be a benign cyst of some sort, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I know.

She must seek medical advice, they will send her for a momogram, which is a test that can check what the lump is, it dosnt hurt but is kind of uncomfortable. I dont think it really matters how close you are, if she has told you about the lump and asked you what to do, you need to tell her to go see her doctor, maybe she is scared & would like you to go, could be a way of connecting with her, if your interested?

Advise her to go to her GP as soon as she can.

More often than not lumps are benign and nothing to worry about but the sooner she gets it seen the less worry it is in the long run and in the worst case scenario that it is something malignant or worrisome then the sooner it is treat ed the better the prognisis.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and you MUST get her to the doctor. It may not be serious and may be due to her hormones but it is a chance she cannot afford to take as lumps in the breast can be VERY serious I will tell you straight that if it is a cancer she will die unless treated, the longer she leaves it the harder it will be to cure

That sounds relatively dodgy, to be undemanding. ok, there is often the potential for paying for a m/c at any time throughout a being pregnant, yet relatively interior the 1st 12 weeks. So sure, you're at a severe time yet in simple terms draw close in there and have fun each passing day with out heavy blood or cramping (that's what i did for the 1st 12 weeks). i could get a 2d opinion on the UTI - you have not stated any indications right here. and that i under no circumstances purchase stuff from my Dr/OB - i'm getting something mandatory on prescription on the drugstore, so this does sound dodgy. replaced into this folic acid in a pill bottle in any respect or have been they only unfastened in a plastic bag? in the event that they have been unfastened, you have not any theory what tiers of Folic Acid (in the event that they are Folic Acid) are contained interior them. and that i'm taken aback she did a Pap at this degree too, yet in keeping with possibility that's customary. on the tip of the day, if you're going to m/c, you will m/c and there is relatively not something you're able to do approximately this. yet you would be able to not be at any better possibility than everybody else from m/c. i could hear on your intestine instinct and that i could actual recommend you get a 2d opinion from yet another wellbeing practitioner approximately what she has mentioned, whether you relatively have a UTI or something. there is under no circumstances any injury performed in getting yet another scientific opinion. stable success - i'm relatively sorry you're in this occasion.

Tell her to make an appointment with her GP IMMEDIATELY!!!
it could be something or nothing, but the sooner she gets it sorted out, the better and easier it will be for her, maybe you are not as close as you should be, but this is the time when she will really need her sister, be there for her. GOOD LUCK

You beg her to make an appointment with a surgeon as soon as possible. Not ask, beg.

I hope all goes well. That happened to my mother. She waited to show me when it was about the size of a small egg. It was then too late.

Whether you are close or not, you still need to beg her to get an appointment with a surgeon who will order a mammogram and go from there.

Well, if she is under about 25, then her breasts could still be growing, and this results in lumps. If not, she could have breast cancer. She needs to see a doctor so that if it is cancer, she will have detected it early enough to treat it. Good luck!
