yes this is true. "Democracy" is popular rule. Whatever is voted on is what is done. Notice that we don't go to the polls to vote on legislation. We elect congress and they vote on the legislation. We have a representative government - a republic.

This is true. We are a representative democracy also called a republic. In a true democracy every citizen would vote on every bill or every law that was proposed. Because we have 300 million people and no one's really sure who is and is not a citizen, this would make it difficult to have a true democracy. Although with the incredible technology and lack of faith in our political leaders, it may be about time to abolish the house and senate and start voting on proposed laws over the Internet or something. This would turn us into a democracy. However, the founders did not want this because they were afraid of the people's ignorance and incapability to comprehend some of the proposals. This is one of the reason, the lack of trust in the people, that the electoral college was set up.

We are supposed to be a Republic, but all that went to the wayside once we signed our death warrants by allowing the privately held Federal Reserve Bank to control our currency. If we were a true Republic, we would NOT have to pay taxes on Property. And technically we are a Republic, but we have been cheated out of it and now, by all actions of our government and because people do not stand up to the Federal and State governments, we pay taxes on things deemed taxable by our DEMOCRACY BASED Government.

The Federal Reserve note above is what allowed all this to take place, fyi.

The US is a democratic republic, we elect people to represent us. It is a more efficient way of doing things, in a true democracy you would have to vote on every issue. WHen would you have time to work or even research the issues.
