My personal favorite is Vail. The back bowls are just fantastic. Also "up there" on my list are Keystone and Copper.

Breckenridge is good, winter park, snowmass (a little further out). If you're from the Eastern US, anywhere in CO is going to be just great. I know it is for me.

If you stay in Dillon, you'll have easy access to a handful of different mountains, all less than a half hour or so.

My favorite place to snowboard in Colorado would have to be Breckenridge! I spend like 4 weeks during the winter out in summit county with the Colorado Pass which gives me access to Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and then 10 days to Vail and Beaver Creek but I spend a majority of the time at Breck. There are decently priced hotels in Frisco and Dillon to stay at. Good Luck and have fun!

Everyone seems to like Copper Mountain. Access from Denver is good via I-70 (about 2hrs) and there are lots of lodging options between Copper, Frisco, Breckenridge, Silverthorne. Plus, if you want to ski another area, there are several within a short drive - Arapaho Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge & Vail,.

Winter Park, Steamboat Springs & Keystone-I really like keystone. WP is not good for snowboarders; the map dosent point out catwalks or flat parts of the mountain so snowboarders have to be careful where they ski; WP is great for skiiers; you can go to Squaw Valley on the border of nevada and california

I've heard Monarch is moderately priced and a decent place to ski. I'm not a skiier but being from colorado many of my classmates back in school were skiiers.

I like Vail and Beaver Creek, Beaver Creek is probably my favorite.

It's very expensive to stay though.

You can check out this link for lodging in Avon, the town that sits below Beaver Creek resort:
