I also live in michigan and yes, if you are behind you can be evicted. I was in a similar situation where I was 2 weeks late, and when I called downtown at the 36th district court to ask if someone can still be evicted, they explained to me that you could because if your rent is due on the 1st, then that is the day that you are suppose to pay. The 7 day notice will start from the 4th. Then after that time, the landlord can go to court to put in an order to be placed for eviction. After that, you only have 10 days. Good luck.

This is a notice to tell you that if you do not pay your rent in seven days your landlord will go to court to evict you. I would assume that you 7 days begins on the 4th to be safe. I would suggest paying your rent or finding another place to live because you will probably not be living there at the end of the month if you don't pay up.

Yes. The 7 days starts after the first day that the rent is due. Maybe they just had a feeling that you wouldn't pay on time, and were right.

It may be probable, you need to really, first but something in writing in order to protect your self, give them a written explanation of why you haven't paid, medical or whatever that way you look more credible in front of a judge if they do take you to civil court. They more than likely will take your sec dep. I live in Michigan, there are so many variables here. really, you need to be straight up face it and accept responsibility, would you like it if the roles are reversed

The 4th. It was filed in court that day. I'd pay my rent or start packing real quick.

You can not be evicted without a court order. If the letter is not from a state housing court, you are safe.
