First off you need to be awarded 10pts for spelling his name right which so many others have failed to do so.
As far as letting someone like Mark McGwire into the Hall of Fame it would be a major insult to current inductees. Those players entered the Hall from natural talent and playing ability and are worthily of being hall members. McGwire used drugs to aid him in achieving what other did naturally. He has dishonored himself and the game of baseball and simply does not deserve to be put in a place with deserving players.
He and Pete Rose are shoe ins for the Hall of Shame.

Absolutely, not only was he one of the best power hitters of the past twenty years, but he is also a prime example of the dark side of baseball which is definitely alive and well. We should remember the game for how it was and who was involved. To leave out players from the baseball museum/hallof fame who make up half of the baseball news from the past ten years just isnt being honest about what was really going on.

This is going to be a tough question for a few ballplayers including Rafael Palmeiro, who also has HOF numbers. I think eventually they will get in but not until the steroids issue is settled and that can take a long time especially with a commissioner like Selig.

I say no. Yes, he could hit a ball a long way. But hitting power has very little to do with how good of an overall player someone was/is. I don't know the facts and percentages but I do recall him being kinda bad @ fielding at times, and then he was slow for the times he didn't crush the ball.

Absolutely.
How interesting is it that 77% of the voters have conveniently forgotten that McGwire has not been proven to use ANYTHING illegal?

No, he is not Hall worthy and it has nothing to do with Steroids. He is just not good enough. Home runs only shouldn't get you into the HOF. The rest of his numbers aren't nearly good enough.

when mcgwire was playing the use of steriods was not banned so he techincally was not cheating. the use of steriods does not improve his ability to hit just hit the ball further.
Onlike Pete Rose who knew the consequences of his actions before he took them i do not feel sorry for him.

It would not be fair to current members who earned the right to be there off of pure untainted talent.
Mark used illegal substances for most of his career, making his career all but a lie. You can't reward someone like this with such an honor.
