It is unfortunate. Belligerence is an attempt to feel relevant without the thought or responsibility that comes with it. (The anonymity Yahoo! Answers allows also serves such persons.) I never read anything anyone posted that ever made me want to "smack them in the head" (with words or otherwise). My little corner of the universe doesn't allow me to be so personally affected by Yahoo! Answers. Seems to me that people so bothered by some questions (and it's the "answers" that are more often belligerent) should find a different website at which to loiter. It's a big wide world - with the beautiful and the ugly.

Because some of the people on this site ask REALLY retarded questions.
Just do a search and look up all the idiotic questions people put out there, and you'll totally see the reason to smack them in the head.
Using words, I mean.

because some people are jerks. and it's easier for them to be jerks on a faceless forum such as this. don't mind them.
there are a heap others here who are honestly asnwering questions and making comments.
and just to note: this question really shouldn't be posted in movies. this is a really good way to attracts those angry insults from others. take it easy and don't let the jerks get you down.

My feeling is that this type of posting is being posted by immature adults or children, who have no respect for others. There are questions being asked by people who are seriously looking for answers, these people who post insults are just trouble makers.

I do abuse if the need seems to arise but then that is often when the abuser is blatantly being aggressive i dont see why some people can slag someoneoff for something or their sexuality

I know... I don't like that either. It's because we're all anonymous. They can take out their anger on nice people and feel better about themselves. Either that or aliens make them do it. No one knows for sure.
