How does a TV card work on your pc? do you NEED an ariel on your roof? can you just hook it up to an internal ariel? I want to get freeview on my PC but don't have an ariel point in the room with the PC?!!

2 ways of doing this:

A) Via a simple USB device, which normally comes with a little stubby ariel with a suction cup attached, which you just plug in, install a bit of software, and you're away, all the normal freeview channels, and possibly others. Costs around £50 I think, give or take.

B) Buy an internal (PCI) TV card - some are digital, and should receive f/v straight away; others are ananlogue, in which case you'll need a "set-top" box to decode the signal, plugged into a quality (not one for a fiver from the sunday market) internal ariel. Cost (if you have to get a box as well) would be around £75 to £100.

In any case, before you spend some hard-earned cash, make sure that your area has freeview coverage yet (some places aren't scheduled to be available until 2012), and that the signal strength is solid.

I have this one, it works quite well. No additional hardware needed.
