Im currently eight weeks pregnant and from the minute I was due on i had aches and pains that you would normally associate with having a period, infact at 6 weeks and a few days I had cramping one night, woke up to find a bit of blood in the morning and after going to the early pregnancy unit they confirmed by way of an internal scan that the baby even had a heartbeat and all was well....so even if we bleed early on it doesnt neccesarily mean the worst will happen. I can understand your anxiety entirely because this is my third pregnancy and I hadnt experienced feeling stomach cramping and stuff in the last two so was shocked that I had all this pain this time and everything so far is OK. If you read on here reguarly you'd be suprised just how many women experience these symptoms in early pregnancy. Goodluck x

The best answer I can give to you is that I have been having serious period pains for two weeks. It was the worst yet. It felt like I was on my cycle but there was no blood. So I was two weeks late already. I finally broke down and had my partner get a test. I took it today and found out *not even 3 hours ago* that I am pregnant. We are guessing about 7 weeks. So, if this sounds like what your experiencing then I am as well. I am pregnant so I would take a test if I were you and talk to a doctor to make sure everything is going okay. Good luck to you! I hope it turns out like you want it to!

Hi. Yes you will have pains that feel like period pains when you first become pregnant. This is because your body is changing in preparation for your growing baby, even though he/she is very very tiny and undeveloped at this stage alot is going on inside to make a comfortable home for your baby for the 40 weeks that he/she is living there.Congratulations.

It could be that you are pregnant, and your body is starting to stretch and change to accomodate the pregnancy. If you are trying to hard though, you can make your period be late. I would suggest a test by now, since you are ten days late. Good Luck!

If you're 10 days late take a test.

Definitely you get cramps all through the first trimester. This is your uterus stretching to accommodate. How many times did I rush to check if I was bleeding? If you do have a bleed, call the doctor.

Good luck

Apparently it's very common. I had cramps and aches that were very like period pains in both my pregnancies and my midwife assured me that it's perfectly normal and is to do with your uterus growing. However if the pains are severe see your Dr.

Yes. Good advice, is always to talk to your doctor about this, to make sure that you and your developing baby are OK. Don't dismiss it. I had a miscarriage and it was not pleasant. Always let a doctor know, and get it checked out, any bleeding that you have.
