If so, what happened? Did you get your period a few days later...or breakthrough bleeding & also did you have a normal pregnancy? My doc told me that it was fine to start trying as soon as you finish the pack of pills but the problem is I'm on that pill that lets you have a period every 3 months, so that means I won't finish this pack until March & we don't want to wait that long to start to conceive! Any suggestions??

Disregard the answer from the person who said it could cause complications or deformalities. That is such a myth! The pill is just hormones that fools your body into thinking it's pregnant so you don't ovulate. If you don't ovulate, you can't get pregnant and that's how the pill works. There's no way the hormones from the pill could cause complications or deformalities. I got pregnant from stopping the pill mid cycle. I had a little bleeding and then it went away and then 2 weeks later I ovulated and I got pregnant. You can stop taking the pill right now but you won't know what's going to happen. Everyone's body is different. You might bleed a little, you might not. I would see if you bleed, and if you do, start having sex every other day after the bleeding stops. Good luck

Stopping The Pill Mid Pack

I was just at my obgyn recently and he told me there is a reason that you take the pill daily - it only works daily...therefore you miss pills or stop taking them, you can get pregnant. I waited 6 months after I stopped taking my pill to conceive my second child...she is going on 8 years old and she was just perfect...pregnancy really sucked but she was fine.

I have stopped taking my pill mid cycle to throw off my cycle a week due to plans and resumed a new pack the following week. I haven't had any problems and haven't become pregnant...But if I were you I would wait probably at least a month after stop taking just to make sure that the hormones are out of your system. The doctors do not agree with that statement, but I would much rather be safe than sorry.

I don't know anything about the three month pills, put I was on the monthly pills. I stopped mid-month a couple of days later I started my period. Then started trying to conceive right after that. I conceived within the first month. I'm now 8 weeks and everything is fine and healthy. I would think your pills would do the same. If you stop them now your body will go into a menstrual cycle. I would maybe call your doctor or his nurse just to check. It will not cause the baby any harm if you stop taking them now and wait until after your period to start trying. Good luck!

I have to say that i fell pregnant with my son while using no protection back in Aug 05 and had him in May 06, 3 months later while on the Minipill (and also being very careful to take it correctly!) i fell pregnant with number 2 who is also due in May but 2007! Two children a year apart! After being in great shock i am now happily 20 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby. I really shouldn't worry about stopping the pill as so many babies are conceived on them anyway and are born just fine.

if you stop taking the pill mid-cycle, you will probably resume a period shortly thereafter. However, I would wait a month or so before actively trying to conceive, due to the fact that the hormones will remain in your system for up to a month. This could cause complications with the health of your fetus. Not really likely, b ut it could happen. So, to be safe, I would wait.

I used to be instructed via my OB that when you give up your tablet, whether or not mid cycle or no longer, that you need to use trade delivery manipulate for a few cycles to permit your frame time to regulate. When you're at the tablet it motives the liner of your uterus to be not up to usual (consequently, the purpose for lighter durations while you're at the tablet). You uterus demands a couple of months to construct up the liner to a usual state. This does not imply that you simply can not get pregnant, however simplest that it could be a more fit lining and more fit begin for the embryo to implant. Good good fortune.
