Saddam Hussein, and yes I agree. It was long over due. Do you know how many lives he ended. If he were still here, he would still be killing thosands of people anyway. So they did him a favor.

In some cases an eye for an eye is appropriate, but until I talk to someone from Iraq that was actually there and can be trusted...I have no idea, other than what the media said, about what he REALLY did there. ALL I know is that BILLIONS of dollars were spent on catching him, when those BILLIONS could have helped so many needy people here in America. Question........Does America , or the rest of the world benefit now that Sadam is dead? Did anybody on YAHOO Answer and Questions get a raise at work the day he was killed? Did real estate get cheaper the day Sadam died? Did healthcare, or the cost of a good education for children get any better? Did it make Americans and people in this country love each other more that day? HELL NO I'm not saying that I'm for what Sadam did, but what I'm saying is that what did the country benefit as a whole. Is America any safer now that Sadam is dead? Hell No. And I thought and was taugh that if you have to go to battle make sure you win and make dayum sure it benefits you. We invaded Iraq and you would think gas prices would go down. OH...4give me for being naive. Bless the families that lost loved ones to this fighting.

Since he was responsible for hundreds of thousands of murders, not counting war deaths, most people would say he was worthy of death. Even if you are opposed to the death penalty in ordinary cases, Saddam Hussein was exceptional.
Besides that, he would always be a danger if he stayed alive. The region is unstable enough that there could be no guarantee to keep him in prison. His followers might break him out; an election might put his friends in power; a war might happen that would result in his being released. It's not worth taking that chance.

Did I think he should be executed? You bet.
Did I have a problem with him being hung by the neck until dead AFTER he had been tried by an Iraqi court of law and found guilty and after his appeal had been denied? Not no but HELL NO!
Was it the way I would have liked to see him terminated? No, I wanted him and his boys taken out by a Sunni sniper using a Chinese rifle. But that didn't happen. I would have liked to see him turned over to the families of the people he was convicted of ordering the deaths unlawfully. But that didn't happen either.
Would I be in favor of life without parole? Only if the families of those he was responsible for their deaths could come by and throw what ever they wanted at him.
There are some times when a death penalty is warranted. This was one of those times.

Even though i hate his guts for annihilation of thousands of my country men, but I'm having a second thought. We should hang BUSH instead, for the harm and destruction he's done to America and rest of the world in the name of peace. Leader of the free world 'my foot', he's more like a gas chamber operator than a rational leader. Well, sooner or later, he'll be the one looking at the new operator inside the chamber!!!!!
Final word: I NEVER BELIEVE A BEEP WHEN US. GOVERNMENT IS INVOLVE IN ANY SITUATION, THEY'RE MASTER OF COVER- UP! Just wait a decade or two, truth will comeup!! Saddam may too!!!!!!

Killing this man can't possibly make him take back what he did. I would've chosen a different way to make him see he was wrong. If people are complaining about him killing other people, they're contradicting themselves with the fact that they're killing this man, too.
I deffinitely don't agree with this death.

i'm not saying he didn't deserve it but i always thought the death penalty was kind of pointless, i mean you have an otherwise healthy guy they kept healthy for 3 years to do the trial and then they just say ok now we're going to kill him.

I am angry with his death that it didn't serve any purpose. Iraq is no better at the moment as it was during Saddam's time.

He was a murderous little tyrant who even used babies and his own family as pawns in his game. He is dead, move on.
