i take them out of my clothing because my shoulders are broad enough without them, and ive seen angel patterns but what else can i do with them besides the trash

A great use for old shoulder pads it to attach them to a hanger. It keeps sweaters and stretchy tops from getting those bumps from the hanger, and helps keep items on the hanger.

You can stuff your bra with them. Sometimes when you purchase a dress or shirt you just need a little more push to fill it out. The shoulder pads do nicely.

I've had the same trouble. I usually just stuff them in a drawer, but I like the potholder idea someone posted.

Knee pads, elbow pads (for skaters, skateboarders), or kitchen scrubbies.
Or make a tiny slit and add beans for a bean toss.

my nan was a keen gardener so she made some knee pads out of them so her knees had protection from the ground
