This is the correct spelling the orignal one and in Scotland it is not an issue.

Mhairi is also a name but is is pronunced Varrie as in gaelic Mh spells a V.

I LOVE Hamish. The two girls names are both beautiful so either would be good.

Hamish is pref to Murdo, cos, in my opinion, Murdo sounds too much like 'murder'.

Either of the girls names are pretty. Go for the one that is more unusual. I prefer Mairi.

I'm Scottish so I know where you are coming from. I like the girls names. My own name Kirsteen is a gaelic form of Kirsten, or Christine.

Blokes names are OK. My fav gaelic bloke names are Alaisdair and Micheal (but I think the latter is Irish, rather than Scottish).

What's the last name....

If you want your kids to have a tough time with the teacher, go with Eilidh, no one will be able to pronounce it. It's embarassing to the person trying and your daughter would hate that.

Well, ok, then, thanks for clarifying !!!

Hamish (I like it for the biblical meaning) and Eilidh, what a pretty name to pronounce as Ailie.
