How many times was the football thrown to T.O. from the Dallas Cowboys and how many total did he drop? Just to let you know... This Dallas fan can't stand T.O. There's no crying in football...

Drops are not an officially tracked stat, but from research I have found multiple claims that he led the league with 15 in '06. This shouldn't be talked about as much as it is though, dropped passes are not and should not be considered an accurate gauge of a WR's worth. 85 receptions for 1180 yards and 13 TDs, these are stats that matter. Leading the league in drops may sound bad, but really what would matter is the percentage of dropped passes. Since Owens had well over a hundred passes thrown his way, the percentage isn't that bad. It would be the equivalent of criticizing Peyton Manning for leading the league in incomplete passes. Who cares? So long as the percentage is acceptable, and in both cases it is.

The thing that Owens is accurately called out for is his off-field antics. He is a poor teammate, and always thinks of himself first. Because of this, people want to find fault with his game and slam him, but he is a TD machine, and a threat the defense always must respect, even with an injured hand.

So slam the guy all you want, but do so for the right reason. If he is released from the Cowboys, it will have nothing to do with 15 dropped balls.

I'm just wondering when teams aren't going to put up with T.O.'s off the field antics and let him just sit in free agency for a year or two to see how well he does without a paycheck. Let him see that he needs the NFL more than the NFL needs him. He's not really a good receiver, he was the #2 receiver behind Jerry Rice, with Steve Young at QB. That combo could make ME look like a Pro-Bowl receiver (and I'm 5'7" and have never played organized football). Ever since he left San Francisco, he's done nothing but cause trouble for which ever team he's been on, first Philadelphia and now Dallas.

I'm with ya. This Dallas fan can't stand T.O. either. He is a cancer. If they would let him go, and use his salary to beef up their O-line, they will be a contender next year.
