Even though it shouldn't matter, I think many people question if someone is gay based upon what we see. How about talking to him just in general and asking what he likes to do outside of work or what his hobbies are. Find out about what type of person he is first. The gay answer will eventually come.

Why do you want to know? If your officemate is gay, it is that persons business. If you really want to know, ask.

Drop trouser and give him a lap dance. If he rises to the occasion and you feel the posterior pressure be prepared for a rousing game of plop the banger in the bun. If nothing happens at least you have your dignity.

Ask him to join you to the coffee shop and have a cup of coffee or tea! See if his pinky finger, when raising cup to sip, points out! Otherwise, just ask him! Don't be shy.....

from my experience in life, there are only two SURE ways to know if someone is gay (or even bi):
1. they admit it to you
2. you catch them in the act
anything else is heresay and speculation
