I love my boyfriend. I have been with him for going on three years now. I know without a doubt that he loves me. But I don't know if I trust him....this is why.
Everyone we know is telling me he has been cheating on me. He denies it obviously. But no one can give me facts, all they say is things they have heard...and we all know how rumors get larger.
I have always been a very good judge of character and have a hard time believing he could be this horrible.
But how do you make this gut ripping doubt stop?
I don't want to
A) break up with him and years later find out that they were all wrong and he has been telling me the truth. Ending the best relationship I have ever heard of.
B) stay with him and years later find out the hard way by catching him myself. Wasting years of my life.
Both options would kill me.
What do I do?
How do I figure out which is the greater risk?

Personally, I feel that you shouldn't really care what anyone else says. If they actually come up with proof somehow, then they could be right, but for right now just go by your own instincts. Think about what your heart is telling you to do, even if it is undecided. If you still have doubts then you should confront your man and let him know what the others think. Or at least quiz him, in case you do end up catching him in a lie. Basically, if you truely feel that you're going to regret the way you feel in the long run, you should give it some time. Try to connect with your emotions before you make a mistake, because honestly, your man and whatever is going on should be your business, no one else should be so concerned unless they have their own issues.

How good are all these friends who are telling you this? People can be very deceiving especially Young people in relationship because life is out there and it is tempting all the time to experience new and different things. I don't think the gut ripping will stop until you find proof for yourself if he is cheating or not. You need to do A or B of your options because either way it may hurt and your going to have to face it and deal with it sooner or later. If he is young chances are he is out there experiencing and I would take option A because unless you two are planning to marry in near future you will be wasting your time away with a guy you are uncertain about and you will never find happiness or peace in this relationship and eventually in will be dammaged. Go with your Gut feelings.

Well AsLongAsItRocks you pretty well answered the question yourself by stating that you have a gut ripping doubt. My advice would be to follow you instincts as they will not steer you wrong. Often we try and alter what our guts are telling us and then regret this later, or we try and rationalize our internal feeling. If you feel that you are a good judge of character and your gut is telling you something is amiss, then it probably is. Best of luck.

Why would your friends lie to you? You need to find out for yourself, but I learned long ago to always listen to my gut. If something inside is telling you that he is not being faithful... it might be time to take yourself seriously and start looking out for YOU. I would NEVER stay with a guy I couldnt trust because It would cause me to freak out about small things... So all I can say is Have faith that deep down YOU KNOW THE TRUTH, and listen to that. Put him on Lie Detector machine and ask your questions...
Trust is a 2 way street...if you don't trust him...your relationship will suffer...find out why you don't trust and resolve them...
