It all depends on how many eggs you have left in your basket if you know what I mean. It also depends on if you have ever been on the depo shot. Women who use depo as a birth control never release eggs. Which in turn mean you will go through menopause a lot later in life. You can get tested if you feel the need but on average.... its usually mid 50s or so. Most women don't enjoy menopause but God wouldn't make us women go through it if we couldn't handle it right? :)

Good Luck!

each person is different, but on the average..you will get symptoms around 45 and start menopause at 50-51 and go until 60-65. i am 57 , started at 50 and have had just a few hot flashes.....no meds. they are not bad enough to bother me. first year was the worst but now it seems to be at the end. NO mood swings..so i guess i am one of the lucky ones. i would suggest doing research or asking your dr. about the HRT.(hormone replacement therapy.) i would NOT do it, but my friend had no choice her hotflashes were sooo bad. so, again, it is an individual thing. good luck.

I'm 38 and have been having symptoms for about 18 months now. My doctor just changed my BC pills to lighten and shorten my periods, as well as to help with the irritability and insomnia.

To answer your question, the vast majority (which is to say many but not all women) begin peri-menopausal symptoms at about 40 to 45 years old.

You've been listening to too many stories about menopause.
Each woman enters menopause in her own unique time. I went thru it at 31, my sisters are now in their 60's and still have no symptoms. Listen to your body, do what you feel is best to help you thru the change of life, but know that some women never experience a single symptom. All are unique.
