My stepson 16, cannot go to a regular high school because of some trouble he got in. He just came to live with us after not seeing him or him having anything to do with us for two years. He goes to an alternative school. When I drop him off in the morning-no one has winter coats on and all the kids are smoking on school grounds-even though the age to buy tobacco is 18 in Michigan. There are no books to bring home, no locker, no book bags allowed, and NO homework. It is like they make it easy on these kids because they can't conform. They have an OPEN campus for lunch, thus whoever has a car can drive away from the place and never return. I find that contradictory that they can't bring a bag with a lunch in it but can go out of the building for an hour or so.Are these schools effective???
