I have a pigmy goat and she is just to awsome!! Her name is Sara! We adopted her long ago for our horses. She is like a dog. She will follow us around and yes she will get in to trouble!! ha ha If you have the time they are great pets!! Make sure you have room for them! They also need vet check ups as well so make sure you have a vet close that will make house calls!! even though Sara will try to get in the car with the dog!! We think she thinks she is a dog!

And sorry but I do not agree with the first poster. We have 2 dogs, 3 cats, a rabbit and 4 horses!! Sara will accually sleep with the dogs in the barn!! Sara is one of the family she is never bored and she has her toys!! She has a large ball that she will play with and she runs with the dogs at fetch time!!

Just so you know it is not mean to make them faint. Fainting goats are an accual breed of goat and not all goats do this. They are accually qiut cute and it dose not hurt them when they faint! They will faint all by themselves when they get excited, scared, happy! It is a nerve disorder! We had a friend that had 3 of them they would get so excited at feeding time they would drop to the ground!!! If you watch them in the field all the sudden one will just fall to the ground! Before you call someone mean Puppylove NO THE FACTS!! Ask a vet or look it up on the net!

Yes, they most certainly are CUTE! I have pygmy goats and Nigerian Dwarf goats and they make wonderful pets! They do have a few specific needs, though. Good fencing is a MUST. They can jump high and squeeze through small spaces, so you have to make sure the fence is tall enough and doesn't have any weak spots. They are also VERY vocal and unhappy if they are alone. They need another herd animal to live with and keep them company, preferably another goat. I also disagree with the poster who said they don't like other animals and get jealous. We have 13 goats, 11 llamas, 4 horses, 4 dogs, and a bunch of cats and the goats get along fine with all of them.

Yes goats can make wonderful pets...but remember you need to read up on how to take care of them first...Goats cannot eat certain things and they are not the tin can eaters a lot of people think. You will also need to have a good place to keep them and yes these little guys can escape places you never dreamed of..They are also wonderful jumpers :)

Also remember that unless you want to go crazy be sure and always buy two...never have just one goat as they cannot stand to be by themselves. You will go crazy from all the screaming :)))

Just a quick comment regarding the fainting goats. They don't actually faint at all. They have a condition that makes their legs stiffen. It only last a few seconds, is totally harmless, and almost anything can set it off. Like another person posted, even feeding time can cause enough excitement to make them stiffen and fall over. They're very funny! 😂

Pygmy goats are excellent little pets! they are so much fun, and love to play, plus they are smaller and easier to keep than normal goats. My nana has a few and they are like her dogs! Also, a really fun breed is fainting goats! they really do faint if you yell, run after them, or make a loud sound, anything to scare them!

A pygmy goat makes a good pet as long as you don't have any other animals. They love attention and can become quite jealous. Pigmy goats can also be house trained but I doubt you would want one in the house because they do get that musky "goat" smell.

NO..
My niece had one and it lived a lonely life BECAUSE... for humans they "just aren't dogs"... She ended up buying more of them so they could have friends and she didn't have to feel guilty anymore

Hope this helps
GOOD LUCK
