If you are talking about sign stealing it is not cheating and went on all the time in baseball. Every team always looked for advantages.

The Giants didn't cheat in the '51 Series. They didn't even cheat in the 3 game playoff against the Dodgers considering they lost Game 1 at home and were losing Game 3 until their last at-bat.

They did steal signs during the regular season but all teams try to steal signs.

The only controversy was whether or not they did steal signs as they made a comeback in the standings - by flashing signals from the center field club house.
