Your muscles were strained when you were hit. When the impact threw you forward, your muscles strained to hold you back. This is called whiplash. It will go away, just like pain after exercising will go away.

If you are concerned there is more of a problem, see another doc, but I'm not sure what else could have happened beside general muscle strain. Did your arm hit something? Do you have weak bones? If there isn't a situation like that, what else could be wrong with you? You just have to let yourself heal.

You should first see your primary dr who should then refer you to a specialist..orthopedic dr. My daughter was in accident in September and did not seek treatment until about a week after. We ended up in emergency her in severe pain. Same as you, neck, back, shoulders. They told her it was severe soft tissue strain..whiplash. She went to her primary then to an orthopedics dr who ordered an MRI..only to find out she has bulging discs in her neck. This has been since September, and shes still out of work and getting treated. Now she has extreme headaches, (has to have ANOTHER MRI & saw a neurologist, she was depressed for about 2-3 weeks and still has pain that brings her to tears. So, don't treat it lightly. She thought she was just banged up at first and all would heal in a reasonable amount of time.
Good luck.

If you are not satisfied with the doctor that is dealing with your accident, tell your insurance company and get a second medical opinion.
