Agoraphobia, the fear of open spaces. Generally, this is what is the cause behind individuals not wanting to leave their homes.

Psalm 30: vs 3 I am alive that my soul should not live in sheol (hell)... Remember, as long as you remain alive, there is hope. Killing yourself does not solve anything, you will just carry the things that make life bad with you, and it will become 1000s of times worse. Remember also, there is no such thing as a person so pathetic and worthless as what you are describing. I know, because I have fallen into the same trap. The only way I can leave my house is if I have a task to do. One of the best reliefs I have found has been to devote my time to writing. If you can't write about things as they are, then write fiction (where you can imbed some of yourself into the writing, and no one will ever notice). This will allow you to pour the problems out so they do not tear you down. You will get stronger if you do this... Good luck, and prayers are with you. I would have said, get out and make friends, but I know the difficulties that can have. I am there myself. How do you make friends when no one sees you, and if they do, they don't get you? That is why I say write. It is a good way to start getting the barriors to go down. You can write journals, or stories, or poems. Then once you get going, go out and join a reading group that you will take turns reading your writings. This is where fiction comes in great, as it lets you put your feelings into the writing, and yet no one will readily notice it to be you. They will then start saying things like "wow!" or "great". Note, that you should also look for those who will critique your writing or else all the "bravos" will feel false and be what will take you back into your own blocked world... You will make friends if you stop trying to make them, and just start trying to do your thing... friends become hard not to make then.

It's called Agoraphobia. I suffer from the same thing, but I also have Asperger's syndrome, so Agoraphobia may be just a consequence or feature of this syndrome.

I'm trying to overcome it, but... well, I'm pretty weird. If talking could help you, then try messaging me on Yahoo Messenger or send me an email sometime. My id is the same as my user name: prisonerofdepths.

Here are some sites that can offer you more information on Agoraphobia.

You might also want to check if you don't have the Asperger's Syndrome because the effects are very similar to Agoraphobia. Here's some info on the Asperger's Syndrome.

It's called agoraphobia. There is treatment out there if you want it. If you're an adult, you could seek psychiatric help. You can even find therapy online (try google or yahoo search) if you're not ready to go outside and talk to someone just yet. As a teen, speak to your parents (or another adult you trust who can talk to them for you, or write them a letter if you're embarassed) and see about getting some help. There's a whole big beautiful world out there, waiting for you to come enjoy it. Don't let your fear rule your life, or life will pass you by. Best wishes.

It's called agoraphobia. It will only get worse if you let it! You must force yourself to go out and have a life!

I wasted 2 years of my life that way, and it's NOT WORTH IT!

As far as I know, there are 2 ways to get over it:
Faith, (in GOD) if you believe in predestination, there's nothing you can do about it anyway...
Psychology, take it all the way... What's the worst thing that can happen?

GOOD LUCK, and DON'T LET IT RUIN YOUR LIFE!

Beth email me and we can talk about that. You have phobies to die and take life too seriously. We are only on earth for a certain amout of years so wasting that time be afaid to die is not a great idea. You need to overcome these fears. The only way to achieve that is getting your mind busy with real hobbies that you love.

Joe.
