Well...You need an emulator and a bios for the system. If you don't have the system or game, its illegal. But if you have both, its fine. What system are you looking to find? Ps2, Xbox, all that are pretty much impossible to find working emulators right now. Ps1 is possible, but difficult to find the Bios for cause its illegal. But, if you have a PS1, you can download the Bios, and its all legal. Old systems like NES and stuff, is easy to find emulators for, and quality ones.
When you get an emulator, you can load the game within it, or you can mount it on a virtual drive. Theres alot of programs for that, my favorite is Alcohol 120%, cause it burns ISO, creates them, and has a virtual drive program in it. You can burn an ISO to a disk and play it from the CD drive as well.

most games off of Torrents come as a .iso format. This is basically an image of the CD you need to find an .iso extractor and burn it on a DVD or download a program that writes it to a virtual drive. My friend showed me and aweome program its called daemontools.com try that one out !!
