We were on food stamps for six months my father and mother were both sick and out of work and I was the only one working so I needed some help, but since then my sister and mother have returned to work and we have paid back enough taxes to cover what we used. But that is what foodstamps are for, for when people need them, but some poeple misuse them.

Once, a long time ago. My first husband, loser that he was, got arrested for drunk driving and got sent to a 6 month rehab. I had to get food stamps while I was looking for a job and trying to get on my feet. But, in the years since, my taxes have paid for that a hundred times over, so I used it when I needed it - out of necessity - not laziness like a lot of people do. My drugged out half sister has received welfare and food stamps for years and years and years because she is too druggy and stupid to look for and hold down a job.

My mother had a stroke in May, and I was down there for 3 months taking care of her. When I got back, I didn't know for how long, so I applied for food stamps because it was pointless at the time to look for a job.

I'm going to be honest, my mom was on food stamps because it was hard raising 3 kids by herself with no help. Don't get me wrong, she worked but it there was not enough income

Yep, because I was in college and I needed food for my dorm. While away from home.

I was because of a mental condition that made it hard or impossible to work and I had no money coming in.

I lost my job and car and apartment ! Then I fell down the stairs and broke my leg ! I am getting things back as we speak !

my neice did because she had a baby to take care of and didn't want to put her in day care it was temporary and finally she was put in a nurse training program with child care on premises and now she is an RN
