Hey Lisa,I'm a fellow pierced person.I have 13 and AM not getting anymore.I'm not a fan of tongue piercings.I had mine done and broke 2 teeth while eating.I think the one under your tongue would be very bothersome.Good luck.

Ok listen , tongue bleeding is fatal if not treated properly , as you would have to understand the fact that your tongue is the only exposed muscle in your body, ... High chances of it being gangrenic if not peirced properly ....
Second ... you would have to realise the fact that you would then have to start feeding on selective things which cannot hamper / hinder your peircing ... things which are not tooo acidic tooo basic .... like concentrated citric juices .... essentially things which do not cross react with the peircing ....
Third .... as a peircing it may alter your voice pattern ... a few words may initially slurr and if not dealt well then your may have problems for atleast a few months in certain pronunciations ....
Just a few things ...
Hope this helps ....

what you need to know is DON'T!!!! pierced tongue can cause alot of complications. Yes, it does bleed & very badly too. My friend got her tongue pierced, it was a terrible experience for her. She ended up losing her taste buds PERMANENTLY, on top of that, her tongue got an infection which healed months later but it is now numb every day & she has to deal with it for the rest of her life. She can no longer be able to taste foods or drinks. She is miserable! but is learning to live with it day by day. Keep note, that this doesn't happen to each & every one of people who pierce their tongue. But...IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU, it's not 1 out of a million any more.
