I think Muslims are good family people who are getting a bad rap because of the fanatics in their culture.
It's kinda like saying what do you think of White People because of the KKK?.....not all white people, just a few fanatics.

very impressed with the 5 pillars of Islam
It provides a very detailed guide on the rituals and customs of muslim living. Exemptions are very sensibly made for fasting during ramadan if you are sick or travelling for example. Also a detailed guide on what to do if you arrive late at the mosque and are unsure at what stage prayers are at. There is also useful information regarding ritual cleansing in adverse circumstances. I believe also that 'hajj' is not proscribed, merely approved and praised if your circumstances permit. The idea of 'zakat' is very praiseworthy and it provides a wealth of detail on how much is expected of you- (you could almost say 'from each according to his means etc')
Having said that, I do have a great problem with the laws concerning 'blasphemy', adultery and homosexuality. Under any system of ethics which values human rights, these are not crimes, let alone capital ones. Also I consider the idea of theocracy,or the fusion of state laws and religious practices to be a basic restriction of peoples human rights.I would reject being bound by the precepts of the Q'uran written in the 7th century as much as the laws of Deuteronomy written 3000BCE.
If all religions would take account of the social changes (and reforms) since these times, there would be far less problems.
Be angry and protest against perceived insults to Islam by all means, but please, make your protest in a restrained and proportionate manner. Peace be with you!

I'm a Muslim. I think most Muslims are scattered and they are badly lacking unity. One reason for this is geography and second is extremist sects.

Muslims, by definition, have a religious, faith based mindset, alongside Xtians and other theists. That makes them prone to irrational behaviour and intolerance, like all religions.

I think the "GOOD MUSLIMS" need to speak out against their violent cousins.
AND I'm not buying that most muslims are peaceful people.

Muslims are people just like everyone else. there are good people and bad. Unfortunately the media only shows the bad ones. For the most part they seem to be cool. Remember we are all God's children.

Generalistaions like this are the reasons for race hate.
A person can be a Muslim but according to neanderthals like you, A Muslim cannot be a person!
NEVER make the assumption that one persons views even when made through the Faith they have, - is the same as EVERY other member of that faith!
After all - 10 Commandments - I seem to remember 'Thou shalt not Kill.'
All you 'christians' and for that matter all the other faiths, still take the lives of human beings.
So-- as a generalisation,, ALL religious believers are murderers.
True? False?
People like you make me ashamed to be Human
