To ease the mind of spellers, PEARLY would be more appropriate.

You're at the proverbial Pearly Gates now and every time you make a choice that affects others. Choose well and wisely with consideration for others and you will have conquered whatever you may fear. There is only love and fear. Both make your heart beat faster, but love is better on the rest of your body (and mind).

Not really cause I have no clue where the perly gates are. Now if I was at the Pearly Gates I would not worry.

Personally, I would have to say that it could go either way. For example, if someone is a true believer in Christ and has accepted Him as one's personal savior, then one's heart would beat fast with anticipation. However, if one did not believe in Christ and never accept Jesus as one's lord and savior, and were to die and realize that there may be something to this heaven and Pearly Gates business....then one's heart would be beating out of fear.

Haha ... my heart wouldn't BE beating at that point, now would it? It'd be cold and stiff like the rest of me. And I wouldn't be feeling much, because there'd be no oxygen arriving in my brain...

But to humor you ... if I were able to feel an emotion as myself at that point, I'd be surprised and excited - it's always exciting to find out that the highly improbable is actually true. Anticipation of "reward" or fear of "punishment" would be beside the point, and a matter of the purest vanity, if one actually found oneself a whole individual at the Perlite Gates.

Neither, pearly gates only exist in ones mind, no such thing. Afterlife, maybe, pearly gates and heaven , no sister but it does sound good if you are a preacher

While I don't believe in the specific physical embodiment of any "pearly gates" used so often in jokes, nevertheless if I found myself there I would be so excited and ready to ask lots of questions about metaphysics, about the nature of life, death, God, evil, sin, hypnotism, reincarnation, salvation, redemption, atonement, brahman, enlightenment, nirvana, soulmates, rolemates, romance, love, and suffering.

I love God, I'm not sure the heart beats in the afterlife, I don't see the purpose. If my heart does beat it will be out of anticipation.

What if there is no afterlife? Wouldn't that mean that you would have to make the most of this life?
