Yes, they are. They're BH contractions, and not serious. They're just preparing her body for what's to come. The ones you need to watch and wait for are the ones that usually hurt, are very strong, and come every two to five minutes apart. =)

Good luck, and have fun with the babies! They're awesome. I just had one 10 months ago. Congrats!

Those are what we in the prego world call Braxton Hicks contractions. They should not be painful at all. This is your uterus tensing up and stretching to get ready for real labor. In most cases you can change possitions and they should subside. There is no need to pack up and go to hospital because they are not real contractions. I am almost 37 weeks and have had them since about 32 weeks. If your friends contractions start getting painful and really close together then she should call a doctor.

They are probably Braxton-Hicks, or "false" contractions. They are sort of like practice contractions- a warm-up for the real thing. They are very common. Braxton-Hicks contractions will go away after resting or drinking a lot of water and never really happen at regular intervals, but real contractions will not go away no matter what you do, and will become more regular and intense as you go along.

I learn Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. It even involves the physical activities you have to train. I additionally learn The Brewer Medical Diet for Normal and High-Risk Pregnancy. I adopted the Brewer nutrition while I used to be pregnant. I used the Bradley process with all 4 of my births. I additionally learn Husband Coached Childbirth, however that e-book does now not include what you have to train to get equipped for start.

It can be mild contractions, but they should get much stronger when she goes into active labor. They should hurt, and they should be very regular with a few minutes between them. Congratulations to you both and Good Luck.
