It is true, although, the company/corp that putson petakillsanimals is very corrupt and paid by meat industries and other bad people. I have never been fully with PETA, just because of all the good they do does not excuse euthanizing animals because ' it's more humane'. PETA wants to liberate all animals, yes, pets too. Some pets shouldn't be pets, exotics, etc, but from the beginning of time (almost), dogs have been a companion/protector of people, and cats have been companions. They are against pets, but want responsible pet owners. They are getting too big and 'the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing' anymore.

We recently had a dealing with peta that didn't turn out as bad as we thought it would. Most do understand the position of animal control officers having to euthanize and they do feel it is better than a substandard in living conditions for the pet.
I don't think its that they are against people having pets its that the craze of purchasing pets and creating a substandard life for more lives. Their concerns are quality of life a pet has. If someone purchases a pet than another life is euthanized.

They've just run out of control of themselves. I am for animal rights, but I feel to be a part of Peta I would have to put animal rights above and beyond anything else. They are against wool, meat, all animal products, all animal testing, zoo's and animal performances, and seemingly against owning pets. More like their standards for owning a pet run to such an extreme that if you weren't a slave to your pet they would scream "Neglect!"

Find a different source of information. PETA members are slightly to severely out of touch with reality.

I love PETA, and am very supportive of most of their ventures. Sometimes I think they go too far, but usually they are right on.
There is another animal-rights group called "In Defense of Animals" that stresses pet "guardianship" as opposed to pet "ownership." I think PETA is of the same school of thought. They are supportive of people having pets, as long as they are cared for and not neglected or abused in any way.
Of course they are opposed to having exotic animals as pets, and they are vehemently opposed to any type of exploitation of animals for human entertainment or profit.
They also encourage people to adopt pets from humane societies, instead of buying from breeders or pet stores. And they encourage people to have their pets spayed or neutered to prevent further overpopulation and subsequent suffering of animals in shelters.
I'm glad that you took the time to ask about these concerns though. It shows a lot of open-mindedness on your part. I recommend that you check out the PETA website for more information, and then you can decide for yourself. You are likely to get biased info on a website like "petakillsanimals.com" when their name obviously implies that they don't like PETA!
I hope this was helpful! Good luck!

If you want to know their stance on something, then e-mail them directly. I'm guessing their spokespeople and policy makers are not on here, so you are going to get a lot of nasty answers from people who have something against them.
