Crying is a normal emotional release just like laughing, screaming or showing anger. It is neither positive nor negative from the viewpoint of human behavior. Others may form opinions about the reasons one is crying, but that is unimportant. People cry when they're sad and even happy as well. Cry away, because it's also healthy. If you bottle up strong emotions, that can be much more harmful in the long run.

Not at all. Crying does not show depression. A lot of people cry without being depressed. It doesn't have to mean anything. Crying in general is not a sign of depression, but crying regularly can be. But it all depends on the feelings and thoughts that accompany crying.

As for weakness... I don't think it shows weakness. But it depends on what you believe in and on what point of view you have. Crying doesn't necessarily show sensitivity. Crying is just a natural and simple way to show that you are aware of what you go through and that you are able to relate to people, to surroundings and to experiences. It's a natural reaction. Not reaction is unnatural.

It is a way of connecting and relating. That's why for some persons, crying may even represent their strength. It may be the focal point of their power. Insensible people are not aware of everything, while sensible ones are deeper and can understand deeper meanings. It's strength, not weakness. It just depends on how you exploit and cultivate this power.

Crying is your body's way of expressing sadness. Sadness is a natural human emotion. No one should feel that crying is a sign of weakness, rather just an expression of emotion. The fact that men in our society feel that they are showing weakness by crying is simply a product of our culture. The culture tha we livein has defined crying as a more feminine trait since females are believed to be more emotional and in touch withtheir feelings. Therefore, when a man cries or shows any female emotion, then they are viewed as feminine. As far as it being a sign of depression, it can be seen as that when it becomes a constant, daily thing. Since crying is an expression of sadness, one that cries all the time, over "nothing" and everything is therefore expressing that they are experiencing constant sadness. This would be a warning sign for depression, although not enough for a diagnosis.

No, crying is a part of life and everyone needs a good cry every so often. It is not a sign of weakness, you are human. If you cry too often, like about every little thing that happens in your life, you may have a hormonal issue or depression, but thats usually a rare thing.

Crying is an emotional outlet, just like talking about the problem or whatever.

I disagree that men cry less due to society however, men are naturally about half as emotional as women. And when a woman cries, she will undoubtably get attention from others, whereas a guy would probably embarrass himself if he did it in public.

I do know that men deal with physical pain in the problem solving part of their brain, and women deal with it in the emotional part of their brain.

Think about it this way, we can't have mr caveman sobbing his eyes out while hunting down a woolly mammoth.

It's all about the cavemen...

No, i believe crying is as healthy as laughing. You need to cry every now and then, it helps you to liberate the tensions and to let go the bad feelings that sometimes you hold into your heart.
Even in the better times of my life, there is this moment, where, it doesn't matter how good about my situation, my life, and my self i feel, i need to cry at some moment. If not i feel like holding the feelings to strong inside of me that hurts.

I think crying is healthy. My boyfriend thinks its being weak. God gave us tears for joy, sadness, pain and when we are depressed we cry. I always feel a little better. My boyfriend and I ,we are not together anymore because of some of his beliefs. He is a pessimist.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Crying can show depression, but does not connotate weakness!

There are also tears of joy!

Buck up, and remember, "this too shall pass!"
