Legal recognition of gay rights. No question. He supported free trade, foreign investment, and the reunification of Germany totally. Remember, it was President Reagan who said in a speech in Germany," Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!!" He was referring to the Berlin Wall which separated East from West Germany.
