You can be pregnant and bleed, which many people assume is their period but it is actually something completely different.
A period is when your uterus sheds it's lining each month. This lining has been building all month preparing your body for pregnancy. When pregnancy doesn't occur, the lining is released...as your period.
The bleeding that occurs during pregnancy is when the placenta is attaching itself to the wall of the uterus. It may look to you like you're having a period, but it there is actually something completely different happening.
Hope this helps clear things up for you!

I had my period like clockwork all the way through my fifth month of pregnancy when I was carrying my second daughter. I thought it was a rip off since the best part of being pregnant was having no period. LOL

Yes you can be. With my first son I had my period for the first three months. When I went to see the doctor and they told me I was almost 16 weeks I fell offf the table. They had to confirm it by blood test.

Yes it is true, although it is not a period, just some sort of bleeding. I had bleeding the first month of my pregnancy and it was not implantation bleeding. It's more common than you think.

no, you can't. you can bleed while you are pregnant, but it is not the same thing as your period. your period is the shedding of the lining of your uterus that would be used if your were pregnant. when you are not pregnant, you shed this lining during your period. the only way to have a period (she the lining of your uterus) during pregnancy is to have two uterus's. VERY RARE!

i dont think so because the whole point of having you period is when you are notpregnant and the internal lining of the womb breaks up. so i dont see how you can be pregnant and still have a period
