A small number more than today. Even today, more than 90% (possibly up to 99%) of heart attack victims will not receive early CPR.

Only about 7% of people who are hospitalized with a heart attack will survive to leave the hospital, and early CPR improves the odds by about 70%- so, about 12% survive.

Contrary to popular media, CPR is rarely very effective for adults- don't forget, most adults who need CPR have bad circulatory systems in the first place.
