Ive watch it a million times but i cant figure out.
Is the old lady mrs.Threadgoode actually idge?
I really wanna know. plzzz dont just tell me if youve seen it to get points. plzzz answer my question too. Thanks

yes she is. The hint is that at the end Kathy Bates's character sees the jar of honey. That was something that Idge had done. Plus, she knew way too much info on Idge's life to have been told about it second hand.

I don't think it is said so much as implied but I sure thought so as well. I love that movie. Especially the parts where they cooked the guy into barbecue and where the Kathy Bates character goes nuts in the parking lot. I have SO wanted to do that!

I think the author deliberately confuses us. In the beginning of the movie, Mrs. Threadgood tells her friend that she married one of Idgy's brothers. Later in the movie, the author makes it look like Mrs. Threadgood is really Idgy. But if she married Idgy's brother, she cant be Idgy. Read the book. She clearly marries the brother in the book .

I've wondered this as well. I always thought so, but she acts so differently than what I imagine Idgy acting like as an old lady. She seems too lady like, you know? I've wondered if she was maybe a descendant of Idgy.

So glad to hear so many liked the movie! Jessica Tandy was the mother of a dear friend of mine! I have that movie in VHS...and DVD!! I love to watch it over and over. And yes...Kathy Bates was excellent!
