or example...the temeprature in Ontario Canada during one of the coldest months of the year from December-January has been on the plus side and feeling like fall. Could this be a sign as well or just a coincidence? How long do you think we got if it's real?

WOW! I have to say, you are much smarter than a lot of people. Most people will just automatically believe what everyone tells them, but you are first person I know to actually question something that everyone says is true. Very intelligent question. Now, about fifty something years ago, everyone was worrying about going through an ice age and how every one is going to die and bunch of other nonsense. Sure enough, it never went into the ice age and warmed up. Ever since then it's been warming up a little bit each year. Recently, because of this little bit of extra warmth, everyone started to worry about global warming. They've been saying, "The carbon dioxide from the cars is creating a green house effect!" Even though the cars do add carbon dioxide to the air, it's not enough to create a difference AT ALL! Anyway, everyone was worrying about global warming, AND NOW IT'S COOLING DOWN AGAIN! Now, of course someone is going to come up with some stupid crisis like global cooling, because people make money for "discovering" these crisis'. Back on subject, all it is, is a cycle. It warms up a little over a long period of time, then cools down again. The reason people don't see these things is they don't know they're history! There is always going to be talk about a "crisis", you just have to figure out if you're going to believe it.

It was 90 degrees in Los Angeles yesterday, a new record. Global warming is just one tipping point for the health of the planet. The bottom line is we are polluting the Earth, stripping it of resources, and at some point it will be realized that we've gone too far. Efforts towards recycling, alternative energy, and other remedial measures will help, but it may be too late to do much about it. It could be that there will be a huge cataclysm where a large percentage of the Earth's population will succumb to a new kind of untreatable disease, or some other global catastrophe, and the Earth's atmosphere may get a break, but this of course is a terrible solution. If the Earth's demise is real, we may have another 500 years left before our atmosphere is rendered too toxic to breathe, or the weather becomes so violent that, again, the global population and its ability to further pollute would be reduced. Perhaps that is the key towards the planet's survival, that ultimately the Earth will determine what it needs to do to be viable for all its denizens, not just humans. The Earth is not sentient, as far as I know anyway, but the net result may be the same - if we make the Earth unlivable, it will become livable again once we lose the ability, and numbers, to pollute it.

Yes it is real and happening. That is fact. The question is are we responsible for the acceleration of global warming. Real evidence seems to affirm that. There is a lot we can do to slow this process down dramatically. However, there are a lot of people that chose to ignore the problem for economic reasons (which makes no sense) and a lot that take the 'it's nature so we can't do anything' approach (which is absolutely asinine).

We can take action to recuce co2 in the air (we are at the highest levels in measurable earth history), learn to conserve resources, and learn to change behavours and habits now so that we can better adapt to natural changes while at the same time not making them worse. This will make some people mad but please watch An Inconvenient Truth. It is not dismal and pessimistic, but instead a great film which encourages us to act. Many ahve said it's a government problem. At least in this country we are the government. It's our problem and it will not wait for others to act.

As far as the 'it's not a threat approach', when the ice in the Himalayas is gone there will be complete drought in a region populated by millions. That kind of instability will be a threat to everyone. And, keep in mind, that is just one place. These problems will be repeated all over the world.

The sea levels are already rising folks. We can approach the problem when it's up to our necks or we can approach it now.

It's global warming and they are already predicting 2007 to be the hottest year on record! We have had no winter to speak of and most days temps range from 50s to high 70s. We had one little bout of snow - less than an inch. They say there is a winter storm coming this weekend, but I'll have to see it to believe it. There are still flies and bees and other creatures roaming about that should have been dead a long time ago and we still have patches of green grass and some of the trees are budding already. It's totally out of hand and if the governments of the world don't do something, it will only get worse!

The term Global Warming is a misnomer. It should be something like Human Effect Climate Change or something. Global Warming just sounds kinda snappy is all.

Regardless of what it is, it is happening, we (humans) are causing it and it's gonna be really pretty crappy unless we do something about it. In the two days after 9/11/01 no planes were flying in the U.S. The temperature in the states dropped by somewhere between 1.5 and 2.1 degrees depending on where you lived. That's an amazing difference. Especially considering the realatively small change that was made (no planes).

i say we got anywhere between10-15yrs left until our planet kills us off. HUMANS are the problem and we need to go! We don't deserve this planet, because of what we've done to it. Were sufficating our one only life source, by cutting down trees, laying down roads, killing everything we see and driving cars. The earth needs to breath and were not letting it. Were so worried about money these days that we forget that were killing our planet, very quickly and people don't realize it. Other things people don't realize that we've been very lucky so far. At any time a sun flare could hit us and by by earth or an astroid could hit, again by by earth. The way we live is a disgrace to the defenition of life, which means to live by the way and were not. The life we've created for
ourselves is Hell! I personally rather be dead than to live this so called life.
Humans are the stupidest animals that ever existed. This whole life thing is about money, and money by the way is worthless!! some moron made it up
and look what it's done for us, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Think about that for while!!!

Yes I think it's real and the Superpowers of the world don't care because they're too busy rolling in their piles of money off of creating this event in our life. I don't even know if once it gets started if it can be reversed. I hope it can for all of our sakes. The Bible says that it won't be water (story of Noah) but fire next time (Global WARMING causing water shortages and famine and the sun literally burning us alive eventually). Is THAT coincidence? Read Revelations and compare the events that were prophecied over 2000 years ago to see if they have come to pass.

Of course it's real. For example: Ice on the Kilimanjaro in Africa is disappearing (it'll be gone in 15 years!) and there wasn't a lot of snow in Scandinavia this year.
So is the case in Ontario Canada: It's a sign that things áre changing.

Yes, because I live in Chicago ("the windy city) and we have not had a real winter thus far and the temperatures have been much much warmer for this time of year. We should be shoveling snow, making chili, and dressing in layers by now. We didn't even get snow for Christmas this year. So yes I believe it's real and it's happening.

Peace
