Go to Bayside and take one of the narrated boat tours. Bayside is behind the Miami Heat arena and can really provide a daylong hangout. There is a daytrip to Freeport, Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale, leave @ 7am back @ 10pm, about $120/person. Must walk around Coconut Grove and have dinner in South Beach at night.
